I created the first short story, Night Escape, as a way to show my writing style with my future readers/followers. I found as I wrote the first scene that more scenes surfaced. The story that started out as a single glimpse behind a background story for my debut novel, Druidess Found, developed into a novella. I will share the novella scene by scene in the coming months. All subscribers to my “Through the Portal” mailing list will receive these short stories via email for free. Even new subscribers will start at the beginning and receive the subsequent scenes in their original order. I am striving to share at least one scene a month.
Night Escape is the first set of short stories to tell the background story of Kaily and Makala, and how they developed into the individuals they are in Druidess Found. It is my hope that by sharing these background stories my readers will gain a deeper sense of the worlds I have created. In the same way that I have shared my writing journey on Facebook, I would like to share what makes my characters who they are in each of the stories.

Sharing these short stories/scenes are my way of sharing the writing process with all of you. They are a glimpse into how a story develops from the first words written to the book formed. Once all the scenes have been written, I will compile them into a novella. As a follower, you will get to see the first to last draft and be a part of the changes that shapes the stories I write.
